Connecticut-based Athlete Innovation has made an early investment in 3x360 LLC.

A portion of the pre-seed round was directed at 3x360’s rebranding and website relaunch efforts while additional funding has been earmarked for new initiatives, events and onboarding of new staff, as sports and recreation start to surge following the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

“FIBA 3x3 is poised to grow, not only as a compliment to traditional 5-on-5 basketball, but as a whole new sport and supplemental industry,” said Athlete Innovation founder, Drew Dawson. “FIBA 3x3 is a new and exciting brand of basketball, it’s now an Olympic sport and 3x360 has a strong model and relevant startup team made up of former athletes and current coaches to catalyze a successful programming-market fit.”

About Athlete Innovation: Athlete Innovation is a platform that uses entrepreneurial education and project-based coaching to assist athletes with the inevitable transition from competitive playing careers to life after sports — enabling enterprising athletes to pursue entrepreneurship as a viable career choice while accessing the necessary support and capital to start and build viable businesses. Athlete Innovation has been recognized by the likes of Connecticut Innovations, University of Hartford Entrepreneurial Center and Lean Launch Ventures, among others.
