What’s FIBA 3x3?
What started out as a recreational urban street game is now an organized sport and officially in the Olympics! FIBA 3x3 (3-on-3) basketball made its Olympics debut in the Tokyo 2021 Summer Games. FIBA 3x3 consists of one hoop, one half-court and 2 teams of four players (one sub). Fast-paced and highly engaging, games last 10 minutes and feature a 12-second shot clock. Why 3x360 Hoops?
Simple Set Up & Inclusive
FIBA 3x3 is a simple and flexible set up that can be staged anywhere and played by anyone. All 3x360 events, camps and clinics can be held indoors and/or outdoors in any number of locations. Grassroots and travel basketball has gotten excessive and overly expensive to participate—3x3 basketball presents a fresh, feasible and inclusive option.
Great Coaching Tool
The majority of players, especially youth players, have yet to develop the strength and bball IQ to fully utilize their respective skills within the hectic 5-on-5 setting. FIBA 3x3 affords developing players more court space to operate and apply their skillset. All of which, transferable and a stepping stone to successful 5v5 play.
Quality Participation
With two less players participating as compared to 5v5, additional space to operate and fewer rules to consider, 3x3 basketball is not only suitable for players of all ages and abilities, but the likelihood players will touch the ball more often and contribute is much higher! FIBA 3x3 game rules are not overly complicated and in general, 3x3 basketball is designed to be fast-paced and entertaining, highlighted by a short 12-second shot clock and no stoppage of play on made baskets.

The FIBA 3x3 World Tour was formally launched in 2012. Participating teams represented their hometowns and competed for various prize money.
