FIBA 3x3 Experiencing Unprecedented Growth

MIES (Switzerland) – FIBA's 3x3 basketball discipline experienced unprecedented growth in 2023 across TV, digital platforms, and live events, continuing its remarkable journey from urban courts to the global stage, including the Olympics.

FIBA 3x3's digital channels have been at the forefront of fan engagement, amassing an impressive 1.1 billion views across all platforms. The tailored digital strategy paid off with a remarkable 83% increase in new followers, reaching 6.1 million compared to 2022.

The recent 3x3 World Tour Final in Jeddah showcased the sport's increasing popularity, with broadcasters covering the event in nearly 40 territories. Overall, broadcasters in more than 170 countries—a 112% increase from the previous year—brought 3x3 basketball to millions of new households worldwide. This surge was supported by an expanded event program, including 18 FIBA 3x3 World Tour events in iconic cities and a 47% increase in FIBA 3x3 Challengers, totaling 23 events.

The year 2023 also saw a record-breaking 23 3x3 Women's Series events, surpassing the 15 held in 2019. This growth underscores FIBA 3x3's commitment to promoting and developing basketball for everyone.
